COMO, Italy — Warner Fabrics Ltd., based in London has been sold to Zimmer+Rohde for an undisclosed price by Turnell & Gigon of London on April 28.
Zimmer+Rohde has sales of $52 million according to owner Andreas Zimmer. Other Z+R brands include Etamine, Ardecora and Hodsoll & MacKensie.
Warner was founded in 1870 and is one of two fabric houses appointed by the Queen of England to supply the Royal Family. Warner willl strengthen the traditional fabric offerings of Zimmer+Rohde with this additional line, says Zimmer who confirmed the purchase during Proposte in Como. At one time, Warner was a larger brand than Z+R but over the years it was neglected. Zimmer expects to bring it back.
