January 21, 2010
STAMFORD, Connecticut - Zimmer + Rohde has launched four collections, two from its Zimmer + Rohde brand and two from the Ardecora brand of fabrics.
The new collections from Zimmer + Rohde, Play and Rooms with a View, actively celebrate individuality. Play features ''mix and match'' elements with retro touches and pop culture graphics in designs like LOOP in silk and cotton or the floral embroidery of CIRRUS. Rooms with a View explores the relationship between nature and human perceptions, highlighting natural, sustainable fibres for seven new drapery designs and two highly dimensional materials. The unique warp and weft of these fabrics are also imbued with creamy hues inspired by still-life painter Giorgio Morandi.
The two lines from the Ardecora brand, Diva and Vibration, are complementary collections inspired by female muses, Maria Callas, Greta Garbo and Maria Malibran praised for their beauty and passion for art. Taking their cues from these avant-garde artists, Diva and Vibration are marked by lavish organza, taffeta and velvet with sumptuous and shimmering metallic effects.
Zimmer + Rohde has been a family-run textile manufacturer for four generations since 1899 with subsidiaries in New York, Paris, Milan, London, Dubai and Hong Kong.
