Unifi's Inhibit FR Brand Makes Strides in US
April 8, 2008
Greensboro, North Carolina - As suppliers leave the US market, Unifi Inc. gains new US-based customers for its Inhibit's FR polyester branded yarns, said Roger Berrier, executive vice president of Unifi.
''We have eight to ten customers taking Inhibit on a continuous basis,' said Berrier. ''However, imported polyester product continues to offset whatever gain in market share Unifi might realize in the US.''
''As a result of our flexibility, our Inhibit volume has increased with many new customers in the contract fabric market,'' he stressed. ''Some Avora customers have switched over to Inhibit because we are making it in the States and they wanted a local resource. We see Trevira CS in the market also but Inhibit is attractively priced. We're committed to being a value added yarn manufacturer the US.''
