November 14, 2008
NEW YORK, New York—Tom Solimine has left Swavelle Mill Creek after 15 years.
He was vice president of upholstery for the converter and is well known in the fabrics industry. In his role, he travelled extensively to see mills throughout the world including Italy, Turkey and China. He was a regular fixture at global trade fairs.
Solimine, based in Easton, Mass. outside of Boston, said he will make his future plans known soon and commented that he would like to stay in the industry. His responsibilities will be assumed by Michael Day, creative director and head of design for TFA division and Swavelle Mill Creek Upholstery, according to Richard Hanfling, president.
"Tom did a superb job for Swavelle Mill Creek over the past fifteen years," said Hanfling. "He put us in areas we hadn't been before." Swavelle Mill Creek Upholstery has developed with a dozen mills worldwide, featuring Swavelle generated designs, Hanfling confirmed.
Hanfling wished Solimine well in all his future endeavors and hoped he would be just as successful in the future as he had been for Swavelle Mill Creek.
