Textile Mogul Dies at 83

PINEHURST, North Carolina – The self-proclaimed "Rag Man,'' Saul Nulman, known best as the founder and principal of New York City's former Lanscot Arlen Fabrics, Inc., died on Friday, March 2 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.
The company, which had operations in Concord, NC, and Wilmington DE until it was sold in 2000, prospered under Nulman's leadership.
Nulman, a former Marine who served at D-Day, established several textile related companies throughout the South and operated home furnishing retail stores, always thriving off his customers' energy.
Nulman is survived by his wife, four children and three grandchildren, as well as an abundance of devoted friends and staff.
