NEW YORK, NY—Gregory D. Tarver has been named president and CEO of Covington Fabric & Design LLC.

He was previously president and COO at Robert Allen Group in New York. He joined that firm in 2003 after a 27 year career at WestPoint Stevens. Tarver will report to Mark Kahan, principal and chairman of Covington.

Tarver will be responsible for all facets of CFD’s operations, sales and management. “Greg has the operational experience to optimize CFD’s worldwide sourcing capability in both home fashions and finished products and the sales and marketing energy and vision to return Covington  as a major force in the world of home furnishings,” Kahan said.

Tarver is a 1983 graduate of Auburn University with a B.S. in textile management and technology.

He is joining Covington just as the firm is moving its headquarters to expanded space at 470 Fashion Avenue here.
