Executive from Milliken’s flame-resistant textiles leads Polartec

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Milliken & Company, a global diversified manufacturer, has named Steve Layton president of its newly acquired Polartec business.
Milliken bought Polartec in June, 2019. The brand is a performance textile including outdoor apparel: flame-resistant workwear, and military fabrics
Layton joined Milliken & Company in 2012, most recently serving as vice president of sales and marketing at Westex by Milliken, a flame-resistant textiles business. He holds a bachelor's degree in managerial economics from Union College and a master's in business administration from Clemson University, where he served as an adjunct professor for six years.

POLARTEC
Polartec products range includes lightweight fabrics, and insulation and weather protection textiles. Textiles are used by consumer brands, the U.S. and other global militaries, flame-resistant workwear, and in contract upholstery markets.
