August 1, 2008
DEERLIJK, Belgium – Bekaert Depla Fabrics has been acquired by Muvantex N.V. and will share the name as joint company referred to by both names.
The merging acquisition was made official at this year's Proposte fair in May, where the company exhibited under the Bekaert Depla Fabrics name.
According to Jo De Munster, managing director, Muvantex bought the collection along with machines and the name from Bekaert Depla in April. "The top-end collections will be under the name 'Bekaert Depla, which is a [fairly] old company," he said. He also pointed out that Christian Bekaert is no longer the owner of the company since it is now owned by Muvantex. From now on, Bekaert Depla will be known as a tradename of Muvantex N.V.
