Montgomery Roth Opens Houston Office Due to Katrina

September 21, 2005

HOUSTON, Texas — Montgomery Roth Architecture & Interior Design, L.L.C. has opened a second office in Houston, Texas on McKinney Street in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The company, which has been heavily involved in the design of New Orleans area hotels, hopes to re-open its New Orleans office again on Carondelet Street soon, said Lisa Roth, principal. ''I admire the way some hotel operators have reopened their properties inspite of the hurricane damage. They had a disaster plan and were prepared.''

Montgomery Roth expects to be involved in the renovation and reconstruction work of some of the New Orleans hotel properties but it has also taken the opportunity to open up a second office.

''We have always wanted to open up this second office in Houston and Katrina accelerated our effort to do so,'' she said.

On a personal note, Roth's much admired New Orleans cottage was virtually unblemished by the event, except for a fallen tree. She has also taken up temporary living quarters in Houston.

*editor's note:
Since posting Lisa Roth's Houston office was evacuated and she is currently staying in Baton Rouge.
