Increase in Sales of Furniture Businesses Could Have Positive Effect on Fabric Industry
December 12, 2008
SAN FRANCISCO, California – According to data released by BizBuySell.com which documents the business-for-sale marketplace, price point values for the furniture business have continued to rise despite the recession – a bright point in the prospective future of upholstery fabric manufacturers.
The report shows the home furnishings economy from the time that Wall Street took its initial blows. The data shows that in the third quarter, BizBuySell facilitated the sales of a dozen furniture and furnishing businesses with a median sale price of those businesses being $305,000 which was double that of last year's third quarter sales.
While this may drop steeply in the fourth quarter, an increase in the sales of businesses that make furniture may result in a greater demand for furnishing fabrics come 2009.
