Havranek Leaves Trevira

July 30, 2009

FRANKFURT, Germany – After 13 months, Gerhard Havranek has left his post as head of marketing at Trevira CS & Strategic Business Development.

Havranek reported to Hemant Sharma, Trevira's managing director for sales and marketing.

"The most certainly needed restructuring process that the Trevira Group is currently undergoing to emerge as a healthy company again has, among other things, called for the need to sacrifice my current position," Havranek told his colleagues in a letter he wrote to them. "The past 13 months were full of tension and surprises of all kinds," Havranek said in the same letter.

The Indian Reliance Corp., the owner of Trevira, placed Trevira into bankruptcy June 2, cut staff and plants and expects to sell the restructured company in the near future.

Havranek stepped into his position on June 1, 2008 after being introduced during a transition period by his predecessor, Ulrich Girrbach.

Havranek came to Trevira with over 30 years of experience in the textile industry ranging from product development to managing director.
