Crypton Encourages "Loominary" Young Designers
February 26, 2007
WEST BLOOMFIELD, Michigan – The time is coming for young textile designers to get their creative minds thinking about where they see the future of textile design. For the fourth year in a row, Crypton Super Fabrics will be sponsoring their "Loominary Award," and submissions must be in by April 13.
The "Loominary Award" was created to recognize young people who wish to advance the creative evolution of the textile industry. It is meant to recognize new talent and introduce it into the international textile community.
Any undergraduate or graduate students studying interior design or textiles at an accredited university anywhere in the world is encouraged to submit entries to the contest. Judging by an international panel of textile experts, industry leaders, designer and journalists will be based on functionality and design.
Winners of this year's competition will be unveiled at this year's Decosit show in Brussels in September. The winning design will be woven into a Crypton fabric and be on view at this year's Decosit show; later to be placed in the market.
