Bella Dura Has New Recycling Program
June 20, 2007
GARFIELD, New Jersey – The makers of Bella-Dura™ performance fabrics have announced a new fabric recycling program for the product.
Wearbest Sil-Tex Mills, Inc., in conjunction with American Fibers and Yarns in Bainbridge, Georgia, has introduced a plan which will produce a variety of durable and disposable goods. Fabrics sent to the Georgia company will be implemented into a recycle stream to produce these products for markets like automotive interiors, horticultural products, geotextiles and filtration fabrics. The recycling process is designed to use energy-saving manufacturing.
Each yard of Bella-Dura™ fabric brought for recycling is converted into inert black plastic resin pellets which offset the need for virgin plastic pellets that are derived from oil-production flow. The pellets are converted to end products like seat motion handles, flower pots and more. The Bella-Dura™ fiber is a by-product of post-industrial waste, is recyclable and harmful coatings and finishes are not necessary for its production.
