Bai Adds New French Lines, U.S. Sales Team, Warehouse
August 1, 2005
HIGH POINT, North Carolina — Bai Industries Inc., the U.S. division of Bel Air Industries in France, expects to step up its involvement in the hotel industry through its recent appointment of JDI International. Bai, a major producer of basic sheer curtain fabrics and tergel yarn, has opened a new warehouse in the southern U.S. as well as new offices in New York as of June 1, according to Pascal Granweiler, managing director.
"There is a big change for us in 2005 as we are now bringing the highly colorful French collection of jacquard curtain fabrics to the States," said Granweiler. "This includes a more ethnic collection, a contemporary urban collection and a 'cocoon' family-oriented collection. All are easy care."
In addition, Bai Industries has appointed several new members to its sales staff, including Patty Wilson, U.S. sales director, previously with Jablan Fabrics, and Emilie Kandin, in charge of the U.S. office. New sales representatives include: Chris Wilson, Midwest; Andy Markel, Atlanta and south; Lee Gunst, Canada and south to Atlanta; Doug Travato, southern California; and Brand Associates, Texas. Granweiler said he is still looking for a sales representative in Seattle to complete the team.
Bel Air shows its line at Heimtextil internationally and at Showtime in High Point. It also recently participated in a French show geared to the Chinese market.
Bai Industries sells residential lines through U.S. wholesalers.
