March 17, 2018

NEW YORK, New York — P/Kaufmann Inc. has closed its Western Textiles Division, F&FI has learned. Lance Garcy, President of P/Kaufmann could not be reached for comment. Stewart Jervis, President of Western, has also left the company. Western Textiles was a brand/business acquired by P/Kaufmann Inc. 20 years ago. It was mothballed in 2003 and then relaunched under Jervis as a window fabrics sheer line in 2015. Jervis was initially Vice President of Sales for P/Kaufmann Inc. when he joined in 2005. Prior to that, he was director of export sales at Crestmont Fabrics, Inc. in Hauppauge, New York. Western was a low priced, light weight synthetics, natural fabrics and luxury line in “good, better, best,” price categories, Jervis said at the time he took it over three years ago. “Our goal is to sell more product categories to our existing customer base and position our company for the future,” he explained at that time in F&FI.
