FRANKFURT, Germany - Trevira will launch its first Trevira CS Bioactive home textile collection in January at Heimtextil 2004, the company announced November 11.

Given the high demand for flame retardant materials in the contract sector, Trevira expects homeowners to flock to the new flame retardant Bioactive products.

Silver integrated into antimocrobial Trevira fiber polymers inhibit the multiplication of bacteria in textiles. Unlike disinfectant coatings textile makers often use to immunize fabrics against bacteria, Trevira Bioactive provides permanent antimicrobial protection and cannot contaminate skin with chemicals.

Many Trevira Home Bioactive products are already on the market.
