Tex-Styles to Preview Top Indian Collections

December 26, 2006

NEW DELHI, India -- Exhibitors at Tex-Styles India will be displaying their hand craft skills and products woven on the latest equipment in various weaves and colors during the show that takes place Feb. 27 to March 2.

For a quick preview of these collections and the emerging trends that Indian textiles are famous and sought after for, visitors can look toward the Trend Forum – which will showcase the season's forecasts and trends for spring/summer 2008 from top designers. The Theme Pavilion will depict the Indian industry's capabilities. Fabric Folio will offer a bird's eye-view of the innovations, concepts and development culled from the participating companies and other production centers. Designers' Gallery will be a special, focused area where designers' collections for the season come alive in form and feel.

The show is spread over an area of 16,000 square meters, occupying six halls. It will have a wide product display that includes yarns to fabrics for spring/summer 2008 in cotton, synthetic, silk, wool, jute and synthetic blends for furnishings and made-ups, textile gifts, shawls, trims, embellishments and CAD/CAM systems. "Ministry of Textiles, India is looking to achieve a target of US $40 billion by 2010 and Tex-Styles will be an important event to attract global buyers to increase sourcing from India," said N.K. Sehgal, general manager of the India Trade Promotion Organization, New Delhi.

The buyers who are Indian specific can have a broader choice of Indian collections that may not be present in overseas trade shows. Many exhibitors are small or medium-sized enterprisers who have traditional, decades of textile weaving and dyeing experiences and are ready to create and translate the buyers' concepts and prepare special lines if desired.

Last year the trade show attracted more than 3,500 buyers from nearly 79 countries. The show is being organized in collaboration with Govt. of India (Ministry of Textiles), Office of the Textile Commissioner, Textiles Committee and related Export Promotion Councils.
