Summer Showtime Business Increased Over 2009

HIGH POINT, North Carolina — Summer Showtime is experiencing an uptick in business this year, according to leading mills.
“Numbers are encouraging,” said Alain Duval, president of Victor Textile in Canada, a major player in residential and contract upholstery. “It has been three years since our acquisition of Quaker and domestic customers are looking for reliable domestic partners like Victor who can offer quick response and good designs."
Valdese Weavers, which threw several parties this quarter including the 75th anniversary bash at Showtime, echoed the sentiment that domestic clients are seeking out local partners.
“Business has increased substantially over last year,” said Mike Shelton, president & CEO. “China to China was a good business for us this year which actually grew. Our customer wants to buy volume in many different designs. We still do lots of product even though we don’t know what the customer wants to buy. There’s just not enough time between product introductions to get proper feedback from the customer.”
