Spires Joins Zhongwang

FALL RIVER, Massachusetts — Bea Spires, Jordan Sweeting and Jack Seymour have recently joined a new upholstery design and sales operation reporting to Yan Lin Shan, principal of Zhongwang Holding Group Co. Ltd., Hangzhou, China.

They previously reported to Martin Roy, general manager of the Victor Group in Fall River.

Spires and Sweeting will continue to work in the U.S.  designing product for Zhongwang production in Hangzhou, China that is supplied to the U.S. furniture manufacturer. Zhongwang was previously a supplier to Victor Group and Quaker Fabrics, a company absorbed by Victor in 2007.

In effect, Zhongwang is selling the American customers on a direct basis; previously, Zhongwang worked through Quaker and Victor.

Prior to joining the new upholstery design team, Bea Spires was vice president of design for Victor and her most important designer, Jordan Sweeting has also joined her in the new business model. Jack Seymour, previously a fulltime salesman for Victor Group in the North Carolina market has teamed up with Spires in a selling capacity.

Jack Eger also left Victor as sales manager for Craftex late last year. Craftex was a brand and design library acquired by Victor in March, 2010.  The Craftex mill in Blue Bell, PA. was closed.

Neither Alain Duval, principal of Victor nor Martin Roy could be reached for comment. An official announcement regarding the departures from the company has not yet been made.
