Muro de Alcoy, SPAIN — Santi Mollá, owner of Spain’s Textiles Visatex and Blake Millinor CEO of Valdese Weavers LLC in Valdese, NC (USA) have made a deal to distribute the Valdese upholstery line in Europe.
“For the time being, we will not stock Valdese goods in Europe, but we are open to that possibility based on best sellers,” says Mark Lagerlof, Visatex business development manager, based in Spain who is looking to further expand activity in international markets.
“We are excited to represent this prestigious company in our stand (4.1B90) at Heimtextil 2025, develop our relationship and introduce their beautiful products to the European market. We're excited for this next step and growing all our brands both in Europe and North America,” he says.
“Visatex agents now have a woven upholstery line to offer its European customers in addition to the decorative digital print and wet print fabrics produced by Visatex,” says
Andy Pacuk, the US based consultant for Visatex who brought both parties together. Pacuk says that Patrick Shelton, Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Valdese will head the effort with Lagerlof.
Santi Mollá is the General Manager of Visatex and son of Vicente Mollá, who founded the 26-year-old Spanish company based in the province of Alicante. “Textiles Visatex has customers in over 60 countries worldwide, but the majority of the business is focused in Europe, with Italy being the most important export market,” according to Lagerlof. Lagerlof is also the principal of Tierra Trading S.L. in Mutxamel, Spain.
“Grupo Visatex currently has three main brands. Visatex, which consists of reasonably priced, decorative prints and wovens,” says Lagerlof, an American who fell in love with Spain during his college days and never left.
“Infinity Home is a brand with a slightly higher level of sophistication in both prints, base cloths and jacquards and lastly there's the Pure Life brand, which is an environmentally friendly line which uses various types of recycled yarn,” he told F&FI prior to Heimtextil.
“Two years ago, together with Santi, we launched Visatex Home in the United States and have exhibited in the last several editions of Interwoven in High Point, NC. The strength of the Visatex Home collection is decorative fabrics with beautiful prints and design concepts, but pure upholstery, both indoor and outdoor, had not been the focus,” he says. “When contemplating the possibility of adding a world class line of upholstery fabrics for our offering in Europe, Valdese Weavers proved to be exactly the type of partner to collaborate with and expand business for both companies,” he adds.
