Silkolite: Hand-knotted carpets produced from recycled silk saree waste launched

Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh -- An innovative new collection of hand knotted carpets made from silk saree waste has been launched by Tulsiramrugs, a brand from the house of Tulsiram Gaya Prasad Pvt Ltd. This innovation is called as Silkolite Collection.
The Silkolite collection is created by traditional Indian handknotted weaving techniques using poly-silk and saree silk waste. The range is available in vibrant colours at a price of USD 6 per sq ft.
Tulsiramrugs also offers a wide range of products from low cost to a high-end products, hand tufted
carpets, hand loom Carpets, pit and punja loom durries, shags and many promotional products too. It also includes various qualities of hand-knotted carpets (Indo-Persian, Indo- Nepali, Indo- Gabbeh, Berber) in its portfolio. “We also specialize in custom orders, fashion and designer rugs,” says company director, Gaurav Baranwal.

Baranwal believes that the Indian home furnishings manufacturers have a bright future in the international market if there is a consistent supply of good quality and attractive price points. Currently, the international market is recovering recession and the demand for Indian products seems to be back.
