NEW YORK—Katie Matushak , Vice President, Design for F. Schumacher & Co. will be leaving that company to join another wholesaler, F&FI has learned.

Matushak could not be reached for comment. 

Schumacher is in the midst of moving its corporate offices from 79 Madison Avenue to 31st and Sixth. Their executives were not available for comment.

Coincidentally, Robert Allen has also moved its headquarters from 42^nd Street to 80 Broad Street in lower Manhattan.

On these corporate headquarter moves, one industry veteran commented: “There is no design center in New York anymore. Designers working for the jobbers spend their days indoors and won’t be able to look at the fabric lines in the D&D Building very easily with their New York based offices so widely distributed.”
