Who''s Behind Proposte at 10 Years?

Como, Italy - From 8-10 May, Proposte will hold its tenth edition. The exclusive Italian exhibition showcases curtain and furnishing fabrics producers that represent the heart and soul of the European home textiles industry, said Piercarlo Vigano, member of the board of directors of Proposte, vice president of Ascontex, owner of Vigano Velluti e Tessuti in Nibionno, Italy, exhibitor of Proposte.

"Proposte is designed for commercially important producers who are specialized and qualified in medium and high level of production," Vigano said.

Proposte is a mix of private industry and trade groups, namely Ascontex (Tessilforum, Consorzio Produttori Italiani Velluti per l''Arredamento, Consorzio Italian Velvet) and Consorzio Promozione Tendaggio Italiano.

The Italian industry group Consorzio Promozione Tendaggio Italiano, headed by Giorgio Giardini of Giber and Mauro Cavelli of Mario Cavelli, owns 40 percent of Proposte while Ascontex, another important Italian trade group, owns 60 percent. Both exhibit at Proposte.

The president of Proposte is Giancarlo Canclini. Filippo Mambretti is a member of Proposte''s board of directors. Mambretti is also president of Tessilforum, a coalition of Italian companies, and principal of Tessitura Mambretti Filippo. Massimo Mosiello is the project manager of Proposte. F&FI
