Rockland Mills Unleashes Polyester Mozart, Verdi and Bizet at Heimtextil
November 26, 2003
BALTIMORE, Maryland-Home furnishings exporter Rockland Mills Inc. is launching its ''classical collection'' featuring the patterns Mozart, Verdi and Bizet at Heimtextil 2004.
''These patterns are three base cloths that are woven and textured in 100 percent polyester blackout fire retardant base cloth ready for transfer printing,'' said Rockland Mills President Stan Fradin. ''All three have a distinctive look and feel without conflicting with each other. They are completely different from each other in terms of hand and appearance.''
The classical collection will be available as a base cloth for printers or Rockland will print customers' patterns through heat transfer as a commission printer should the customer desire, he mentioned. ''The customer can print it themselves or we can print their designs on it,'' Fradin emphasized.
Rockland will also provide the trade with a program of solid colors using the three base cloths as well as a selection of designs from the Rockland pattern library. The solid color program offers 35 colors.
Rockland plans to offer this fabric printed for less than $5 a yard wholesale. The unprinted base cloth will cost less than $4 a yard.
''The classical collection is completely blackout and features the same strict quality control standards found in all of the programs of regular Rockland products,'' Fradin said. ''The largest advantage of this new classical collection is in the look and being 100 percent polyester. It captures the full color fidelity of the paper,'' he said.
Fradin said Rockland's wide width program of 280-centimeter blackout lining ''is the fastest growing category of product in our line.''
