Reports Indicate MoOD 2010 Scores Higher than 2009
September 24, 2010
BRUSSELS, Belgium — MoOD 2010 scored remarkably better than MoOD 2009, based on answers from an exhibitors survey conducted by show organizer, Messe Frankfurt, and there was a general consensus that the industry is improving, a sentiment that was not prevalent at the show in 2009.
Approximatley 8,200 people visited the show over the three days. The first two days reported 3,400 and 3,050 visitors, respectively. Although only 1,750 people visited on the third day, attendance was up overall as compared to the previous year.
According to reports on the visitor's profile, Germany, the UK and France were the most important countries in Europe. Eastern Europe, the Scandinavian countries and the Middle Eastern markets are improving and the US is also doing better. Kravet's Scott Kravet and Crowson's Derek Crowson and other important wholesalers were very positive about MoOD this year. Both gentlemen felt it was worth the effort to come to the Fair and both said they "found new products worth buying."
Exhibitor surveys also indicated that the transition from four to three days was an excellent decision, and the customers shared this sentiment.
Exhibitors reported a qualitative assessment of 86% for the visitors, furthering the efforts of Messe Frankfurt to bring the best customers and uphold the well-respected reputation of MoOD. A score of 78% was given for overall satisfaction with participation. This is due in part to the increase of 10% in business as compared to 2009.
Visitors also reported an overall satisfaction with the look and feel of MoOD 2010. New initiatives such as the Blue Drop Bub, two outdoor areas and the Contract Square led the visitors towards the exhibitors' specialized collections and they improved the overall satisfaction with the show.
