RICHARD LIM JOINS ROCKLAND INDUSTRIES

July 31, 2017

Baltimore, Maryland--Rockland Industries, Inc. has appointed Richard Lim, principal of Fabs & Fabs representing Rockland in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Rockland is the producer of Roc-lon® branded residential and commercial drapery linings and blackout drapery fabrics. “Rockland has had a very robust international business for decades, but the growth recently has been explosive,” according to Darren Fradin, Vice President, Sales and Marketing. “With Richard’s energy and enthusiasm, he’s going to make an immediate impact and we could not be happier to have him join our team.  He is among the last of his kind – a true textile professional and powerhouse agency with years of experience selling into Southeast Asian markets,” Fradin adds. Rockland, based in Baltimore, Maryland, has been manufacturing textiles since its founding in 1832.  It invented coated blackout window covering fabrics in the mid 1960’s and today is the only surviving manufacturer of these products in the United States, Fradin says. “Rockland is active in the U.S. as well as in 104 foreign countries,” he adds. “It is a recipient of the President’s E and E-Star Awards for excellence in exporting.” Fradin also says Rockland is expanding its manufacturing capability in its facility in Bamberg, South Carolina.  A new coating line, which will increase manufacturing capacity by 50%, is scheduled to start operating during the third quarter of 2017.
