Purcell Adds Global Textile Group Division
December 16, 2002
Hickory, N.C. (USA) — Andrew Purcell, president and owner of the sales agency Purcell Letchinger Group Inc., has expanded his business with the creation of Global Textile Group.
"Global Textile Group will build new mill relations covering price points of $6 to $15," Purcell said, "whereas Purcell Letchinger covers price points from $15 to $50."
The new division will act as a mirror image of Purcell Letchinger Group Inc., which represents high-end mills from around the world. "I do not want the two divisions to compete against one another," he said. "The mills falling into this new category should still have something unique to offer our customers, which will separate us from domestic products."
Spandauer Velours has already signed on with the division, which is planning for an upcoming show in January. "We will be introducing beautiful velvets to the residential trade, priced in the mid range. This will open new doors in a changing economy."
Purcell will keep agency headquarters as well as warehouse sites and trained staff the same. The company plans to hire new sales agents and add showroom space to accomodate the expansion.F&FI
