Prestigious Advances French Readymades

PARIS — Prestigious Textiles is now selling its fabrics and readymade lines in 100 countries according to Dick Elfferich, director of the French sales operation.
He reports to Trevor Helliwell, principal of Prestigious in Bradford, U.K.
"We're in the early stages of the readymade business in France," said Elfferich during Maison Objet (6-10 September). Prestigious exhibited at the semiannual domestic home furnishings fair that targets the French retailer. The product sold by Prestigious to the French market is 140 cm. x 260 cm. Similar sizes are offered by the company in the U.K. and Ireland.
"Readymades are getting big growth. It's a question of building the right organization to sell and service the retail market," the 12-year Prestigious veteran explained. Elfferich said there were some architects as well as retailers at the fair, which ran from 6-10 September.F&FI
