WHITE PLAINS, New York – With sponsorship from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, 30 leading home textile companies will show at Global Home Textiles for the first time at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas. The Pakistan Pavilion will feature a broad range of home textile product lines.
''As we launch our participation as a country in Global Home Textiles, we are extremely pleased to showcase the world-class products of 30 export-ready manufacturers within the Pakistan Pavilion,'' said Shahid Tarar, commercial counselor, consulate general of Pakistan in Los Angeles. ''The American market is very important to Pakistani home textile manufacturers, with well over 50 percent of exports in this sector going to the U.S. and revenues approaching $2 billion per year - and growing.''
An educational session on Pakistan titled "Country Spotlight – Pakistan" will also take place during the Global Home Textiles Conference Program.
Pakistan is the world's fourth largest cotton producer.
''We are pleased that Pakistan has chosen Global Home Textiles to make their debut in the U.S. home textiles sector, and we are delighted to present this host of new companies to the North American marketplace,'' said Penny Sikalis, GLM vice president, global business development.
