SOUSSE, Tunisia—Nader Oubari, the longtime sales agent for P/Kaufmann and Fabricut in the Middle East and more recently, the owner of Jabtex International in Dubai has finally retired at 83.
He also established JAB’s showroom in Dubai.
Oubari recently moved from Dubai (January 9) to Sousse on the seacoast of Tunisia. Sousse is 140 km south of the capital Tunis. It is Arab Islamic since the 7th Century.
“I like this country. Many Europeans live here. No more fabrics for me,” he tells F&FI.
Oubari is well known in the Middle East as a very friendly fellow and a great entertainer to all who know him. He will be missed from the mainstream fabric business for certain but his friends will find him very happy indeed in Sousse if you want to visit him.
