KENNETT SQUARE, PA. (USA)—Julie Morris left her post in March as Vice President of Merchandising at Calico, a major fabrics retailer that started in 1950.
Prior to that post, she was Vice President of Stores & Operations for this 73-outlet fabrics retailer from April, 2013-March 2015.
Morris had been with the company for 26 years starting out as the fabric buyer. She was a constant visitor to Showtime in High Point, NC. She was generally thought to be the protégé of Bert Kerstetter, Calico’s sole owner and Chairman at 67. Kerstetter again took the management reins of Calico in 2012 together with his protégé Morris. The pair was in the process of rebuilding the 66-year-old fabric Goliath with a new generation of 30 something buyers in 37 States. It is not known what led to Morris’ departure.
Nor are her new plans known. Kerstetter could not be reached for comment.
Calico is owned by Everfast, Inc.
