Brighouse, West Yorkshire, UK—Mobus Fabrics, an upholstery fabric converter based in the UK has opened a distribution office and warehouse in Greensboro, North Carolina to target the North American market.
Mobus was founded in 1994 and has annual sales of reportedly over $30 million in upholstery fabric primarily imported from China.
“This strategic move demonstrates the company's commitment to expanding its operations within the United States and better serving its growing regional customer base across the residential, contract & hospitality sectors,” according to Lee Paxman, Managing Director.
“With distribution sites in Europe, Asia and now North America, we are fulfilling our ambition of serving customers on a more local level, right around the globe,” Paxman says.
Mobus has also teamed up with Franco Nannucci, Principal of Textile Field to launch the Mobus USA operation. “Plans are in place for ambitious expansion over the next 12 months, increasing our stock and SKU’s, offering customers more choice and faster service,” Nannucci says.
The new office/warehouse will “serve as a hub for Mobus distribution operations, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of high-quality fabrics to customers across North America. This expansion comes from the increasing demand for British-designed products, driven by their exceptional quality, in-depth testing, and commitment to customer satisfaction,” Paxman says.
Continuing a long-standing partnership with their software providers, Mobus has teamed up with Reflex Data Systems to implement its latest Mertex ERP System to buttress their North American operation. “Due diligence and customer satisfaction are at the heart of what we do, and beyond supply chain optimisation, the new system ensures full traceability of every meter of fabric from development through to delivery,” says Andrew Phiri International Sales Manager for Mobus.
