Now in its second year, the Blue Drop award system will honor the 10 best creations at MoOD 2010 according to an international panel of judges who will be chosen in the coming weeks. Nominations will be confirmed shortly before the doors to the show open on September 14. Visitors will be encouraged to see the nominees in the Blue Drop Bub, a sanctum sanctorum located in hall six near the sample banks before the winners are announced at 11:30 a.m. on September 15.

The Blue Drop award system gets its name from rain drops that symbolize new life in a landscape afflicted by drought, bringing “hope and heralds the beginning of an abundant harvest,” show officials said. Among the awards will be a “best premiere” introduced this year for fabrics from collections that debut at MoOD. In addition to the press that the nominees receive from the show, MoOD also promises advertisements for the winners as well as feature spots in the online Blue Drop catalogue on MoOD’s website, moodbrussels.com.
