Messe Frankfurt's HTFSE Debuts in New York City
June 21, 2010
NEW YORK, New York - Messe Frankfurt, Inc., in partnership with The Sub-Council of Textile Industry, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), will host its first-ever Home Textiles Fabric Sourcing Expo (HTFSE) at the Jacob K. Javits Center July 13 - 15. The three-day event will run concurrently with Texworld USA, the largest apparel fabrics trade show in North America.
As the only event in North America focused solely on fabric and material sourcing exclusively for home applications, HTFSE is an opportunity for domestic converters, contract specifiers, jobbers, manufacturers and retailers to meet with international owners and managers of jacquard, embroidery, knitting and printing mills.
"[The expo] essentially offer buyers and product developers new products as well as ideas for refining existing products," said Alexandra d'Archangelo, marketing manager for textile shows at Messe Frankfurt. "There will definitely be a noticeable overlap between attendees to Texworld USA and HTFSE, in part because our survey of past attendees to Texworld USA reported an overwhelming interest in the Chinese market and HTFSE has now partnered with CCPIT to address this growing interest."
Feedback from past attendees to Texworld USA ranges from executives at Calvin Klein who lauded the expo for being "very effective to our sourcing needs" to Urban Outfitters who praised it for being "incredibly valuable to our sourcing and design solutions" and d'Archangelo is excited that HTFSE will now add that same kind of value to attendees in the home applications sector.
On exhibition in the showroom will be a fabric trend display, which will highlight some of the fabric collections on display at HTFSE in order to give attendees a snapshot of the floor. Seminars will also be held throughout the expo and will range in topic from color trends to eco-marketing.
"We have an exciting group of dynamic speakers in order to address a diverse audience not only in terms of product developers, engineers, people in sourcing, but also along geographic lines with attendees from major markets globally," said seminar organizer Nina Nadash of Lenzing Fibers. "Some of the speakers have spoken previously at Texworld USA and we are excited to add, among others, these informative and energetic personalities to HTFSE."
Many of the exhibitors are headquartered in China, but d'Archangelo expects many buyers from the Northeast to attend as well.
"It's definitely worth it for people to make the trip, especially for those in and around New York City, in order to truly have what will be a great hands-on experience," said d'Archangelo. "There's only so much you can deduce from international phone calls and such, and for that reason, HTFSE, as the only expo dedicated exclusively to the niche market of home applications, is the next step in generating business between the mills and the buyers."
