Matisse Expands Warehouse, Office
August 13, 2002
Lyon, France — Matisse Decoration France is expanding its warehouse and offices by 50 percent to 1,500 square meters after six years at the same location.
Eric Mathou started up the company four years ago to service the decorative jobber in Europe, Asia and the U.S.A. Mathou and his wife Géraldine had the chance to own a purpose built facility just behind their previous location in Andrézieux-Bouthéon, 45 minutes north of Lyon and they took the opportunity to buy rather than rent.
During the past six years, Mathou said his company has grown substantially and coincidentally, so has his family which now has two children. The family lives in an old farmhouse within five minutes of the Matisse offices and husband and wife work closely together on each collection. The Matisse line is geared to printed and woven drapery fabrics in the middle to upper price range.
Matisse participates in TIP in Brussels and at Heimtextil in Frankfurt.
Mathou is also a shareholder of Stof, another French converter.F&FI
