Material ConneXion Bangkok to Open November 2005, Extends Reach into Asia

August 19, 2005

NEW YORK, New York — Material ConneXion has announced the opening of their fourth office, which will take place later this year.

According to Material ConneXion, the Thailand Creative & Design Centre will host their library, offices, and exhibition space -- their first in Asia. The facility will house meeting spaces, conference and workshop spaces and a multi-million dollar collection of books related to all aspects of design.

Though the New York library will remain the largest of all Material ConneXion offices, with others in Milan, Italy and Cologne, Germany, the Bangkok library will provide clients with access to 600 materials. In addition, the library will grow monthly with new material additions juried and selected by the New York office. According to Michele Caniato, executive vice president, Material ConneXion, "the agreement was signed in June 2005. It had the support of the Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand and, critically, of Khun Pansak Vinyaratn, Chairman of the Creative & Design Centre. George M. Beylerian and I visited the location shortly after the signing to start planning the office and training the personnel."

"We strongly believe that our presence in the Far East will help our existing worldwide clients to source materials and processes from this region as well as provide services to all the manufactures located in the territory," she said.

George M. Beylerian founded Material ConneXion in New York in 1997.
