Mark van der Aa Confirms Textaafoam/Kobefab Deal
October 31, 2024
Tilburg, Holland—Textaafoam, the Dutch converter has purchased Kobe International on October 30.
Kobefab, based in Valkenswaard, Holland had previously filed for bankruptcy September 25.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
Textaafoam principal Mark Van der A, confirmed the purchase and sent following announcement to Kobe clients:
"We are pleased to announce that Textaafoam Holding has successfully initiated a new chapter for Kobe International BV. This development takes place through a strategic continuation under the newly established company: Kobe Fabrics BV.
After several weeks of intensive research, discussions, and negotiations, we have reached an agreement together this week.
Textaafoam is an internationally operating industrial wholesaler, developing and distributing its own collections of upholstery fabrics for the European furniture and bedding industries (www.textaafoam.eu). Kobe is also a prominent player in the interior fabrics market, with a strong specialization in curtain and contract fabrics for both the residential and commercial sectors (www.kobe.eu). This continuation creates a powerful synergy and new opportunities for both organizations.
Kobe Fabrics BV has been founded as an independent entity to carry forward the activities of Kobe. Operations will continue at the familiar location in Valkenswaard. In the initial phase, Textaafoam's management team will support Kobe Fabrics' staff.
In the coming period, we are committed to making Kobe Fabrics BV fully operational as quickly as possible, with a focus on involving as many former employees as possible. In the long term, we are exploring opportunities for further synergy. We see significant potential for optimization, particularly in the areas of sustainability, IT, and Supply chain.
