December 4, 2023
MIAMI, FL —Magitex Décor, an up-and-coming fabric jobber based in Miami has hired Tim Johnson as sales manager.
He replaces Magitex’s first fulltime sales manager, Randy Becker who left the company.
Johnson was previously Director of Sales/Marketing at Jim Thompson Fabrics for 17 years, managing a team of over 20 outside salespeople and 16 showrooms in North America.
“He has over 30 years of experience in the textile industry and extensive relationships with the design trade, understanding their needs by offering his broad textile knowledge,” says Ari Greenfield, President of Magitex.
“Johnson is motivated with the opportunity to duplicate his success at Jim Thompson by being strategic, educational, and motivational to help Magitex become a recognized brand in the industry.”
He lives in Albemarle, NC outside of Charlotte and will be reaching out to each member of the sales team to discuss how we can best place our efforts to increase revenue,” Greenfield adds.
Ari and his father Robert bought Magitex Décor in 2010 and since then they have significantly boosted sales and geographic coverage. Ari Greenfield, the son (42) and his dad Bob (71) have carved out a mass market niche with designers and retail shops in Florida which is rapidly expanding to the entire East Coast and South America. A 15,000 square foot warehouse attached to their offices carries barcoded stock to the rafters.
Within one year of his arrival in the USA in 2010 from Caracas, Venezuela, Bob bought the business. The original company focused on the Spanish speaking market in local Hialeah/Doral with low end fabrics. Bob and Ari expanded the business, and it rapidly became a converter and a jobber of better products.
