New York - Susan Lyons is stepping down from her position as executive vice president of design at Designtex. She spent 13 years with the company.

Lyons stressed that she would work for DesignTex in a consultant capacity. "I really just wanted to move away from the managerial role and get back in closer to the product development side of things."

Lyons said she didn't have a fully formed strategy, but she hoped to pursue possibilities for design product development in other sectors, including carpet. "The idea of working with some other type of media makes it interesting, adds a richness to what I can do at DesignTex, too."

"I've been really involved in sustainability development, too," she said. I want to put more time into that. I'll still be working on that for DesignTex, but I'm trying to branch out."F&FI
