London - Approaching its third edition London Fabric (18-20 February 2003; The Commonwealth Galleries) reports that it is growing as more mills and tanners sign up to exhibit. Organized by the British Furniture Manufacturers and managed by Caroline Haye, the show is dedicated to upholstery fabric, leather and trimmers. Many exhibitors also show their drapery fabric collections as many visitors are interested in both types of fabric, according to BFM.

The largest contingent of exhibitors come from traditional producing countries Belgium and Italy. The show also features exhibitors from Germany, the U.S.A., Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Ireland and the U.K. Newcomers include Antecuir (Spain); Italians Lodovico Rossini, Pozzi Arturo and Vigano; Belgians Ter Molst International, J&S Van Neder and Verstraete & Verbauwede; and Tabetex, the last upholstery fabric manufacturer remaining in Ireland.

Another newcomer, P/Kaufmann (U.S.A.) who specializes in exclusive prints and weaves for the international market, has chosen to exhibit at London Fabric in response to the growing interest for their middle and top-end prints in the U.K. ''Prints are coming back into fashion and represent a growing demand in the market,'' said Olivier Delhomme, P/Kaufmann's U.K.-based sales agent.

Among the regular exhibitors since London Fabric's inception are Quaker Fabric (U.S.A.), which uses the show to support U.K. sales.

Leather will also be on display. Newcomers include Duma from Italy and Ehrlich Leder from Germany.
