Kravet licenses Barry residential line

April 29, 2003

BETHPAGE, N.Y. - Kravet Fabrics Corp. is expanding its 10-year licensed product effort with the Barbara Barry residential fabric collection. Kravet plans to introduce it to the trade in spring 2004 via Kravet showrooms and sales representatives throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Texture and unique subtleties will be the key components of this collection, said Beth Green, marketing director for Kravet. ''The design and patterns will be timeless and classic in a color palette that best represents Ms. Barry's aesthetic. The products to be included are prints for draperies and upholstery fabrics with coordinated trimmings and embellishments, all in keeping with Ms. Barry's design philosophy.''

Barbara Barry is the founder of Barbara Barry Inc., a full-service interior design company, which has won awards for its work and has been included in a list of top 100 interior design firms by Architectural Digest. The Los Angeles-based Barry also has to her credit licensed collections with many better international home furnishings manufacturers, including Haviland Limoges and Baccarat Crystal. She is known for creating beautiful, tranquil and soothing living environments.

This is Kravet's eleventh licensed program. Previous licensing programs include Echo Home, Alexa Hampton, Biltmore Estate, Larry Laslo, Winterthur Museum & Gardens, Diamond & Baratta (through Lee Jofa), David Easton, Joseph Abboud, International Museum of Folk Art and Thomas O'Brien.

Kravet is one of the world's largest fabric wholesalers with fabric sales reportedly in excess of $250 million.
