KENNETT SQUARE, PA -- Burt G. Kerstetter has returned to Calico Corners, Inc., and Calico Home® in Kennett Square, PA. as CEO and President. Kerstetter has been either President or chairman of Everfast, the parent company, for the past 42 years. He returns in a serious effort to reposition the company with consumers in the US market in the face of a sliding economy.
No official announcement was made about the change by Calico Corners but a company executive has confirmed to F&FI that Kerstetter is back to a day to day role since May, 2012.
He replaces Roy Simpson who held a similar position as CEO & President of Calico Corners from 2001-2012 but left active management of the company this past May with the return of Kerstetter. Simpson previously replaced Kerstetter as president in 2001 when Kerstetter was named chairman and CEO, succeeding Simpson's father, Roy Simpson Sr., now chairman emeritus and a board member. The Simpsons, Kerstetter and other senior managers own the company.
Calico Corners began doing business in 1936. Sales are reportedly in the $200 million range with over 120 stores and a twice a year catalog. Aside from fabrics and fabricated items, Calico Corners has been placing increasing emphasis on sales of upholstered furniture.
