Jungalow Founder Justina Blakeney Designs Valdese Weavers’ Inside Out Performance Brand®
December 4, 2017
VALDESE, N.C.-- Valdese Weavers’ new performance brand, Inside Out Performance Fabrics®, is designed by Justina Blakeney, She is the blogger behind Jungalow,
“The Inside Out brand speaks to the bohemian lifestyle that fuels my work,” says Blakeney. “I’m an advocate for breaking down the barriers between external and internal living spaces. With Inside Out I’ve developed creative and colorful ‘everywhere’ fabrics that transcend boundaries without giving up style.”
Valdese Weavers says it creates its own performance yarns for Inside Out. It develops not only basic components but also novelty yarns which can allow a designer to achieve a softer hand with performance fabrics. Valdese’s in-house dyeing capabilities can also mean unlimited color options, a must when dealing with Blakeney’s preference for wide-ranging color palettes, she says.
While Justina’s collaboration with Inside Out Performance Fabrics is a tour de force in aesthetics, it also redefines expectations for a performance textile. Blakeney will be in the Valdese Weavers showroom Monday, December 4, to discuss her new collection with customers and the media.
