Baltimore, MD--Rockland Industries, Inc., a major producer of blackout drapery lining, has named John Jones President of its Rockland-Bamberg (SC) Division.
In that capacity he will have responsibility for the management of Rockland’s Bamberg, South Carolina textile finishing and coating plant.  In addition, he will participate with other executives in marketing Rockland’s products in the U.S. and internationally, according to Mark Berman, Rockland Industries President & CEO. Jones will report directly to Berman.

Jones, with 40 years experience in textiles and international sales, was previously General Manager of Textile Bonding, another blackout lining maker based in New Zealand. He and his wife have already moved to South Carolina in preparation for this  new assignment.

"Rockland is the world leader in the manufacture and sale of blackout coated window covering fabrics," Berman said. "Rockland produces several hundred different blackout coated drapery lining and decorative drapery face fabrics.  These fabrics are sold under the Roc-lon® brand name for use in the contract, hospitality and home decorating trades.  In addition to its line of proprietary products the Company offers blackout coating services to decorative fabric converters and works with this segment of the industry in developing custom blackout fabrics for their product lines," Berman pointed out.

Rockland originally created coated blackout window fabrics in the mid-1960's.  It is the only  manufacturer of these products still operating in the U.S.  As such it is the only supplier that can offer “Made in the U.S.A.” blackout fabrics.  The Company sells its products in 91 countries and is a recipient of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s, President’s “E” and “E-Star” awards for excellence in export.
