Ingeo™ to Take Part in Heimtextil Roundtable
December 1, 2005
FRANKFURT, Germany -- NatureWorks LLC, creators of Ingeo fiber, will once again showcase it at Heimtextil, 2006.
The Ingeo fiber team has also been asked to participate in a roundtable discussion that will explore the issues of responsible innovation and sustainability within the industry. Speakers from all levels of the international home textile market will be involved in the discussion.
Ingeo fiber will also be included in a ''creative gallery'' of new commercial products that represent innovation and creativity.
Ingeo was launched just two years ago by NatureWorks and now holds a presence in more than 12,000 retail stores worldwide. It now has a total of nine commercial applications as opposed to five last year: pillows, duvets, blankets, cushions, mattresses, casing and ticking fabrics, draperies and sun protection blind systems.
Ingeo fiber is the first man-made fiber created from 100 percent annually renewable resources, not oil. It combines the performance of traditional synthetic fibers and the touch and feel of a natural material. It is derived entirely from natural sources, which contributes to reducing our dependence on limited fossil fuel resources.
Ingeo fiber is made from NatureWorks® PLA, the first greenhouse-gas-neutral polymer (based on the purchase of renewable energy certificates).
