Informed Sources Say Dunhelm Will Purchase Designers Guild

MIAMI BEACH, FL. (USA)—Dunhelm, a publicly held company on the London Stock Exchange is a UK based home furnishings retailer with over 100 stores and a very successful web-based business is now in the final stages of purchasing the assets of Designers Guild, (DG) a high end editeur of fabrics established in 1979 by Tricia Guild and her brother.
In 2024, Dunhelm had sales of 1.71 billion pounds in its fiscal year ending June 29.
Designers Guild is an international home and lifestyle company with a flagship store and showroom on Kings Road in London, as well as offices in London, Paris, and Munich. Sales of Designers Guild were in the 40 million British pound range in 2023, but the company was losing money according to informed sources and has yet to divulge its sales for 2024.
Bill and Jean Adderley started Dunhelm in a stall in 1979 at Leicester market, UK followed by its first store in Churchgate Leicester in 1984.
No further information is available currently but rumors about DG being sold have been around the market for at least the last 12 months.
