HONG KONG--The 27th edition of the Housewares Fair and the Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), attracted more than 42,700, an 8.3 percent increase over last year according to the Organizer.
Overseas buyers were coming mostly from Australia, the Chinese mainland, Japan, Taiwan and the United States.
“Though America and Europe are still mired in economic uncertainties, the creeping recovery of the global economy in the first quarter of this year has manufacturers and buyers around the world paying attention to the Asian markets and a lot of overseas enterprises are seizing opportunities to open up new
markets,” said Benjamin Chau, Deputy Executive Director of HKTDC.
To generate business opportunities, HKTDC said it put together 124 buying missions consisting of more than 5,700 buyers from around the world to come to Hong Kong and attend the two fairs.
The 28th edition of the Housewares Fair and the 4th edition of the Home Textile Fair will be held in 20-23 April 2013.
