Herman Miller Wins ICFF Body of Work

May 28, 2008

Zeeland, Michigan - Herman Miller for the Home launched its Lifework ™ Portfolio at the 2008 International Contemporary Furniture Fair with an ICFF Editors' Award for Body of Work. One of 16 categories, Body of Work is presented to the company that represents best of show for its emerging products, booth design, marketing and customer experience.

The Lifework Portfolio includes five desks and multiple storage unites designed by: Blu Dot, Industrial Facility, Kaiju Studios and Korb+Korb. The Eames desk and Nelson swag leg desk are also included in the collection.

"We, the jury, were thrilled to see Herman Miller for the Home take a new step in product development with designs that are worthy heirs to their iconic Eames and Nelson pieces," said ICFF Editors' Award juror and Metropolis Editor in Chief Susan S. Szenasy." The expanded home office collection, we felt, represents a breakthrough moment for the company. The new pieces make a strong statement of scale, materiality, function and style comfortable in the 21st century home; and they were great companions to the historic 20th century pieces."

Marg Mojzak, director of Herman Miller for the Home and Puala Kendra, senior product manager for the Lifework Portfolio, were presented with the award during the ICFF Editors' Awards ceremony held on May 18 in New York's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

"This award for the Lifework Portfolio reflects the enthusiastic response we received at ICFF to the introduction of new residential furnishings," said Mojzak. "Herman Miller began as a residential furniture company and we hope to sustain that legacy by remaining true to our profound design heritage and 'good goods.'"
