NEW YORK, New York – This month, Global Connections™ will make its solo debut, as it is set to precede the New York Home Textiles Show® at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. With two shows in just seven days, George Little Management LLC will be able to display a complete spectrum of home products to its visitors. Global Connections will run from March 28-30. The New York Home Textiles Show will follow from March 31-April 3. In 2007, Global Connections will be switched to May, running alongside the Gourmet Housewares Show™ and the National Hardware Show®. "Repositioning this unique resource in its own time slot preceding the New York Home Textiles Show in spring 2006 will accommodate textiles manufacturers/importers with a conveniently timed sourcing solution," said Penny Sikalis, vice president and group show manager. "Aligning with the Gourmet Housewares Show and the National Hardware Show in 2007 will add appeal, visibility and national relevance – creating a broad and comprehensive market for home-focused industries." According to a pre-market report, trends and importing will be the focus of many of the conferences held at the shows. Due to vital partnerships with industry organizations like the New York Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA), Executives Working in Home Textiles (EWHT) and the National Association of Export Companies (NEXCO), a full-day importing and sourcing conference will be held, along with an overview of the major trade events around the world and a global trends seminar.
