Former Lanscot-Arlen CEO Launches New Company
July 16, 2003
Former Lanscot-Arlen CEO Clement Ramdin didn't rest long after the 30-year-old converter closed its doors for good. Ramdin launched a distribution company, called Cabbarus Textiles, LLC, on June 1, three days after a Georgia court appointed a receiver to liquidate the assets of Lanscot-Arlen.
Cabbarus COO Tim Wiggins, also a former Lanscot-Arlen employee, said the firm imports rolls of fabric from Turkey, Korea and Taiwan and sells them to drapery makers.
The other two employees at the China Grove, N.C.-based firm are Bob Nixon who is vice president of sales, and Tom Barringer, who serves roles as president and marketing and sales director. He was previously with Decorama. Although Ramdin is not listed on the company's website, www.cab-tex.com, Wiggins confirmed that Ramdin is owner and CEO.
The certificate of business for Cabarrus Textiles, LLC. was filed on May 2 by Ramdin's attorney, Reginald Hamel, of the Charlotte, N.C.-based Hamel Law Firm.
